Care in Mind offers a wide range of mental health services to young people and young adults with a range of severe and complex mental health difficulties. We have a comprehensive multidisciplinary team with extensive experience and we aim to fill gaps in statutory services. Our team can provide expert assessments and a range of containing, intensive, flexible and skilled interventions.

Training and Consultation

Care in Mind training programmes are developed to meet the development needs of your staff team, either as one-off sessions or rolling programmes of continuing professional development. Our training is devised and delivered by our experienced clinicians from several disciplines, including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology and Mental Health Nursing. We have particular experience in providing training in key mental health issues for residential care teams, so as to help them to improve the quality of service that they provide to the individuals within their care.

Forensic Assessments

CAFAS are able to provide swift and expert forensic assessments for children, adolescents and young adults up to the age of 25 years. These are carried out by experienced Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Assessments will incorporate the use of validated risk tools such as the SAVRY where indicated. Reports can be provided for both clinical and medicolegal purposes and we will also make recommendations for on-going intervention and support.

Medicolegal Services

We offer a unique specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Medicolegal Service, taking instructions from across the North of England, the Midlands and further afield. Our Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and Clinical Psychologists are available to take Expert Witness instructions for personal injury, criminal and family law cases and our service can also provide subsequent Psychological Therapy as may be recommended in reports.
